File guide
For sharpening the Strand blade (Strand Original), we now offer a file guide for accurate cutting angles (hawk’s beak). The file guide has a radius that matches the top radius of the Strand Original blade. To achieve the sharpest edge, we recommend a 15-degree alternating cutting angle, which is marked on the top of the file.
The file is equipped with a set of beveled grooves (1.6 mm). To measure the bevel, there is a lower section where you can measure the bevel height to 1.2 mm, located at the tip of the file.
File & bevel fixture
With this fixture, sharpening and beveling your clearing blades is quick and easy. The product mounts in the vice, and with a unique spring-loaded center disc for 20 and 25.4 mm holes, you never need to change the center ring for varying hole sizes. The blade can be easily locked in place for alternate cuts if it needs sharpening after cutting through stone.
Bevel/back file
The Strand back file, combined with a bevel gauge, is used to sharpen the back of the Strand blade. The file is concave and precisely adapted to the blade’s spine radius. It is particularly useful if the blade has been used for cutting stone or feels dull. The concave surface of the file is coated with diamond particles, maintaining sharpness for many years even with daily use. The file’s bevel grooves (1.6 and 1.8 mm wide) are also diamond-coated, minimizing the risk of slipping. Although designed for the Strand blade, it can be used for all brushcutter blades on the market.
